Our QHSE Policy

We are committed to providing a safe and healthy work place for employees and customers alike.

We recognize that our long-term business success depends on our ability to continually improve the quality of our services while being mindful of the safety of people and the environment. We have therefore placed emphasis on ensuring human health, operational safety, environmental protection, quality enhancement, and community goodwill in all of our operations. This commitment is in the best interests of customers, employees, contractors, and the communities within which we live and work.

  • Future Upstream Nigeria shall take proactive steps towards protection of the environment;
  • Future Upstream Nigeria shall comply with all applicable local HSE regulatory requirements;
  • Future Upstream Nigeria shall establish Quality, Health, Safety and Environment Management System to ensure continual improvement in QHSE management and performance;
  • Future Upstream Nigeria shall manage all QHSE risks associated with its activities and provide control measures to eliminate or reduce the risks to a level as low as reasonably practicable (ALARP);
  • Future Upstream Nigeria shall ensure an effective response system is established and implemented to mitigate adverse effects and business disruption arising from any emergencies;
  • Future Upstream Nigeria shall provide resources in all its activities to ensure safe working environment and meeting QHSE improvement objectives and targets;
  • Future Upstream Nigeria shall engage with stakeholders and communicate relevant QHSE matters with the communities where it operates to develop and maintain a mutual understanding of QHSE goals and expectations;
  • All employees and contractors are obliged to strictly adhere to this policy to achieve a desired positive QHSE culture.

Our effective safety program is based on the following philosophy which we hold dear in the course of providing our services:

  • Future Upstream Nigeria Limited is a good corporate citizen and believes that it is important to protect the health and safety of all stakeholders.
  • Safety is an integral component of a good business plan. Working safely boosts employee moral, reduces costs and increases profitability.
  • Development, implementation and maintenance of an effective safety program require the commitment of the entire Future Upstream Nigeria Limited team. This includes management and employees.
  • Proactively manage the safety and integrity of our assets by continuously applying proven protocols and standards.
  • Any worker has the right and responsibility to refuse to do work in an unsafe manner.
  • Appropriate training is essential to be able to work safely.
  • All employees are responsible for the implementation and maintenance of the Quality Health, Safety and Environment (QHSE) Manual.
  • Executive management has the responsibility to provide the resources and authority to implement and maintain the program and will periodically assess its effectiveness.
  • We will always promptly eliminate Quality non-conformances and HSE infractions
  • We will promptly respond to and recover from any emergency, crisis and business disruption following laid down procedures and best practices within the industry.
  • Managers and supervisors will ensure equipment maintenance programs are being followed, ensure that appropriate employee and contractor training are in place, identify safety needs, communicate hazards, investigate incidents and accidents, and supply and enforce the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Employees and contractors are expected to obey all safety rules, follow recommended procedures, use Personal Protective Equipment, communicate hazards, ensure equipment is appropriately maintained and assist with ongoing improvements to Save- On Gas HSE Manual.

We conduct and expects our employees and contractors to conduct company operations according to applicable laws and regulations as well as our safety policies and procedures.

Employees and contractors who knowingly violate safety rules will face disciplinary action, which may include suspension, dismissal and/or legal action depending on the severity of the violation. Individuals, including visitors, who are negligent in fulfilling their safety responsibilities will be held accountable and may be liable under the law.
